Chatting with Journalist & writer Jennifer Stevens.
Where do you get your style inspiration from?
These days I get a lot of inspiration from Instagram. I’m lucky that I have lots of very stylish friends and have worked with some brilliant stylists over the years, so I wait and see what they’re all wearing and do my best to emulate that!
Your go to feel good piece in your wardrobe?
I think a great coat is always so important in Ireland and it’s one of the first things I look for each year. You can wear almost anything underneath and still look put together!
What inspired you to get into journalism?
I bought two teen magazines on holidays in Florida when I was 13 that sparked a lifelong obsession with them. I’ve been very lucky to work in a job I love, with brilliant people for so long.
Piece of advice for budding young journalists…
Be curious and love talking to people. The best stories and interviews come from having a really good conversation. If you’re starting out, think of an area you could be a specialist in and ask everyone and anyone for work experience.
Favourite Piece on www.Divine.ie
I have two favourites at the moment. The first is the Estee Smock dress. I think it could be dressed up or down and would be perfect with boots for drinks with friends. The second is the Viola Blue Jacket. ( as seen here ). I love the shape and the colour and can see it with jeans for a weekend walk or over a crisp white summer dress for a sunny day out.
When did you come across Divine?
Mary and I actually went to school together, so I’ve known about her fantastic fashion eye for a (very) long time! When we moved to Maynooth from Dublin City Centre a couple of years ago I would officially say that it was for the space and the lovely atmosphere, but it may also have had a little something to do with being closer to Divine.
