A question I get asked a lot is, “what is IN this season”? I find it such a funny question. It just fathoms me that magazines can dictate what is in and what is out? Please don’t tell me I should be wearing 90’s fashion as it’s “In”. You will never find me in a body con dress and a choker just because I’m reading it’s “In” this season. Dress for yourself, wear what suits you, suits your personality, suits your shape, makes you feel happy & comfortable. To me that’s “In!”
One such trend the magazines tell us is “In” this season is Utility ! And That I will accept (although in my book it’s “In” every single season!!) but I love this look. Military inspired, clean lines, crisp Colours and timeless pieces. Yes please
In case the utility look tickles your fancy too, here are just some of my Must Haves that have arrived this week!
Embrace the utility trend with pieces that Suit you and your lifestyle and remember, if you like it – it’s “In”!
I’m loving these beige culottes with a beautiful swing. This is Coming from the girl who wore culottes for her confirmation and swore blind for years she would never wear again. Well I’m converted! With Two little rascals to run around after I find them easy, comfortable And very practical. But seriously these are the most gorgeous fit and easily dressed up or down. I have added a simple white vest (my ultimate must have for summer!) but again the outfit Choices are endless! Think denim shirt, black tee, crop fine knit, white shirt to mention a few.
I adore this white waistcoat. So simple yet so classic. Summer white is always such a winner plus you can wear this with countless items in your wardrobe from jeans to city shorts or a pencil skirt or tailored trousers. Such an investment piece. I styled them here with camel tapered trousers for a clean, crisp look.
Now I hate to sound like a broken record but I do love a jumpsuit! I know if you are super tall or super petite they can be tricky but for me well they are just so easy. Like a dress only better as you have the comfort of a trouser (shaving and tanning eliminated ) Khaki is one of my favourite Colours And I just adore the boiler suit/ utility/ tailored fit of this little number. Again I will wear this dressed up with a tan or black heel yet will definitely wear with my cons or a gladiator sandal. A definite Must Have!
I am in love with This skirt. I love the clean lines, tailoring, asymmetric hem and belt detail. Styled with a simple vest or tee I think it’s an effortless yet very chic look. This is a new label introduced this season and we were selected as one of the first boutiques to stock it so it’s even more special.
I could go on and on but ill save the best for last. We have gotten so many amazing deliveries this week but this khaki shirt is hot on my must Have list! I just love the versatility of a shirt. I love the khaki Colour and the bit of bling detail on the buttons makes it a piece that just transforms a plain outfit to something a little different!
